Atlantic College occupies a dramatic south-facing site overlooking St Donat’s Bay in Wales. A slow crescent of houses follows the main drive of the college. Each house provides accommodation and study space for four students. Housedoors open onto the pavement. On a sunny day the doorsteps provide a spectacular place to sit and enjoy the view of the sea. Behind the terrace, the International gardens bring together traditional gardening strategies from across the globe to form a horticultural assemblage that responds to United World College’s cultural vision.
