Our courtyard house project transforms a disused shop in central London into 2 flats and a new commercial unit. A courtyard cut into the existing building unlocks the plan bringing light and air into the new flats. A new shopfront and works to the front facade ensure that the building contributes to a lively high street. At the rear, the conformist conservation area attire dissolves into a colourful interplay of blue and orange bricks. An elegant steel staircase links the flat to the garden of grass and scented wisteria.
