Bartlett Summer School
During the last six years the Bartlett Summerschool has established itself as a creative forum tackling current environmental and social challenges. Every year in August 60 students from around the world come together to advance architectural thinking through experimental speculation. Week one focusses on detailed analysis of the subject matter and during week two specific proposals are developed. Even though professional architects work in a team, most architectural education is structured around an individual pursuit of excellence. During the Bartlett Summerschool collaboration and skills-exchange become essential components of the making process. The two week effort culminates in a presentation of videos, performances, recordings and often large-scale animated structures exploring the boundaries between art, theatre, architecture and the city.
