Neverland’s fairies, wild Indians, pirates and mermaids stand in opposition to the Darling Family’s well-ordered middle-class existence. Or do they really? Almost instantly upon surviving a precarious escape from her domestic confines across oceans, through forests and far away lands, Wendy sets to mending the boys socks, mixing their medicines and making their beds. A contemporary reflection on Peter Pan begs the question: Was this a jump from the frying pan into the fire or Wendy’s conscious and well-calculated life style choice?

The performance space is dominated by a 4 x 8m mirror. Through reflection and optical trickery, characters and objects on stage can change their orientation to either exist on the stage floor or appear as their own reflection up high above the audience. An ingenious pivot mechanism tilts the mirror to produce a life-size reflection of the audience on stage, uniting the auditorium and the performance space.
