Offord Road is one of these homes that we all know and love, Victorian terrace with front door on the street, generous windows, functional spaces. Our design concept for the flat was devised around honest and simple materials, openness and transparency combining glass, plywood, marble and a carefully chosen palette of accent colours for doors and architectural details. Secret storage inside walls and a concealed bathroom make use of every nook and cranny to maximise living space and to stow away all the messy reality of everyday life. Our brief specified a 50-year design life which has informed the choice of materials and construction techniques. Every joint, every junction, every surface and every movable component is designed to be easily upgraded and repaired by local tradesmen, saving expenditure in the future and responding to an absolute sustainability agenda.
