Camden Projects

client: Camden Council, budget: various, £25k – £35k, str. engineer: Jampel Davison & Bell, contractor: Keepmoat

–

Overcrowding is a problem which increasingly affects families in social housing in dense urban areas in the UK. In severe situations, it can impact on the well-being of family members and compromise the life chances of a new generation of children and teenagers growing up in inner London. For five years we have been working with Camden Council to extend, convert and enlarge where space is tight. The result is a series of innovative and quirky little buildings that alleviate the need for Camden’s overcrowded families to move out of the borough.
